Hi! I’m Lene. Back in 2024, I bought my first Jeep XJ from Facebook Marketplace and I got hooked. Since then, I have slowly but surely been rebuilding the Jeep in order to create a daily driver/off-road rig. My goal is to either die with this Jeep or have it be buried with me.
Like many others, I’ve scoured forums, reddit, youtube, and whatever else I could find in the internet for this XJ. I mostly have no idea what I am doing considering A) I am no mechanic, B) I never had a job involving tools, and C) I have limited car knowledge as is, But I have no intention on stopping. I figure why not keep a chronicle of this journey and have a place to keep all this info I stumble upon. Maybe it might help out other beginners like me too.
Umm you’re probably wondering why Jeep of Theseus. Well in between drinks, a friend of mine wondered at what point does the OG Jeep become less OG and more a whole new car after replacing parts and adding upgrades? It’s like the Ship of Theseus paradox, except more metal, less wood.
